asked a question | Why did my dog act weird around medical marijuana? First of all, I don't use pot in any way, shape or form. Okay, my question... I live in Washington state where recreational marijuana is legal. I have boarded my dog with various sitters and one kennel, which my husband thought the latter was sketchy, so we won't go there again. Anyway, a friend came to stay with us, and she uses medical marijuana cookie edibles while undergoing cancer treatment. I noticed the moment she took a cookie out before bed, my dog went crazy, and tried getting at that cookie after catching a whiff of it, and followed her all over the house. He NEVER does this, never, never, never. His behavior was so unusual, that I almost wondered if someone at the kennel has given him a pot edible before to keep him calm or mellow. Or am I just overthinking it? I don't know how pot works as I've never tried it myself, so I didn't know if my dog has really had a "hit" before , or if animals just act that way around marijuana. I'm soooo sorry if this is a weird question. |

asked a question | What is your experience sitting for Alaskan malamutes? I have a meet and greet this weekend with an Alaskan malamute. I have been around a lot of different breeds, but not the malamute! I do believe there's a first for everything. However... I have always heard nothing but negative things about this breed, especially being a very aggressive dog, and hating to socialize with other dogs of the same sex. I would hate to be home alone if it suddenly decides to attack, ha. So, do you think I should error on the side of caution and not watch this dog? |

asked a question | Are Rover sitters allowed to use other sites like Rover? For instance, can I list myself on other pet sitting sites as well as Rover? |

asked a question | Is it OK that I've started a Facebook page about pet clients? OK. I am a new pet sitter and just finished reading the comments about Rover not having a way for sitters to share information. So, I started a Facebook page, bare bones. https://www.facebook.com/RoverSeattle/ This is for the Seattle area. I'm just going to leave it as is and allow you to post at will. |
