How can I remove requests?

I was searching for a sitter for my own dogs and a few wrote back that weren't available. Now their messages are permanently in my inbox. I don't see an option to cancel or archive them anywhere - the only option is "Book Now." I can also edit the stay dates and such. They're all just sitting there under pending requests.

FYI:”My name is Shannen with Rover Support. At this time, there isn't a way to delete a booking request permanently. However, if the request wasn't officially booked, the request will naturally move to the Archive section of the inbox a couple of days after the requested service dates have passed”

I changed all the requests or conversations to show a single one day in-home visit. That’s the best we can do

THIS IS still a problem EIGHT YEARS LATER.

I've also encountered this, trying to find a local sitter for a neighbor's cat. I asked the potential sitters who weren't a match to archive the messages. It makes no sense when a sitter doesn't archive because they do not show up in searches for those dates and the person requesting/searching is stuck with these in the inbox.

Yes this is annoying.. especially when I google search to see how to accomplish it from the requester side. On the sitter side it's easy to archive, there should be a way for requestors to change their mind, price wise or already selected. @Rover #Rover Perhaps if we post it on Facebook you'd get a response.

I’m honestly so pissed off by this. I had a sitter booked and yesterday she canceled. Well it’s Labor Day weekend so it’s hard to find a replacement. I get a notification from Rover that I’ve reached my maximum amount of sitters to contact and will be able to contact more in 2 days. Um, what?? I have an inbox full of people saying they aren’t available but still listed as “pending requests” that I can’t remove and I need a sitter for TONIGHT. Like wtf I’m so frustrated. If they know this archiving thing is an issue, why do I have a max number of sitters I can contact, especially when a sitter just canceled???

I have the same problem and i am so frustrated!!!!!!!

I've encountered this also. I think rover should charge them if they cancel on us. That way, maybe they would stick to a commitment. I'm stuck with the same dates and I can't even look at booking for my vacation during the next month. I'm going to try another site. I'm done!

I must agree, so annoying to be stuck with bad clients or unresponsive people :-(

There isn't a way to archive them, but once the days of the stay pass, they will automatically move to your archived folder. I will pass along the feedback to the Rover team!

Sounds like many people are having this issue and Rover has still not made a change 5 months later. Any update when this will get implemented?

This is still an issue. Any updates occurring to this missing feature? It is really annoying to have 10 inquiries sitting in my inbox when I have already booked a sitter.

Yeah...sadly no option to cancel pending bookings. However, I did try adjusting the dates to see if that will remove the extra pending bookings.

Just had this problem with my first potential appointment. Sad to hear this is still an issue two years later.

OMG! This is AGGRAVATING!!! For years and still no fix.

I’m well beyond the booking stage and we still have every conversation going thru Rover. I get the copies of our conversations forwarded to me by rover. I feel like big brother is happening here. I can’t figure how to remove myself from http://rover.com. Any suggestions?

For such a helpful app, this is pretty terrible customer service. Four years for the ability to swipe left and delete. Really? My son writes code for a living, want me to give you his number?

<http://p%3Erover.com (p>rover.com) is such a great concept, but the app has gone to the dogs :) Maybe someone will take the lead and write a better app like AirBnB for pets.. Seems like a great opportunity to move into the market, while fixing the app at the same time. I'd switch, just to be able to delete my old messages

Still an issue as of August 30 2018!

July 2019 and having the exact same issue. This is ridiculous. I understand apps will have issues arise and need time to fix them but it's been four years, this is a completely unreasonable amount of time.

Not being able remove conversations, especially from rude people is very aggravating. Can't someone do something about this? I don't like to be reminded each time I login to my account.

Hey Rover, make your site more customer friendly. We all want to delete old requests and it is not an option. It's and easy fix. DO I NEED TO MAKE THE MODIFICATION FOR YOU?

FYI all you do is change the date of the request. Click "modify". Change to today's date. In couple days gone. (Or can archive but that counts against you)

Absolutely ridiculous to not be able to delete or archive any messages you want. Drives me crazy.
