It is not required to tip your sitter, and most of us do not expect it. However, tips are appreciated. Consider our service to be the same as a hairdresser or someone who provides personal services.
Here is a recent thread that discusses tipping a sitter:
A tip, by nature, is not a requirement, however anytime someone provides you a service, if you feel they did a good job, you should tip them. It's common courtesy. I don't expect tips from clients, but it's nice to get them when you do. Not expected, but greatly appreciated.
Tipping a sitter isn't required. I Love what I do and don't expect a tip. Some of my "occasional" pet parents do give a little something such as either money tip, gift card to Pet Smart/restaurant, dog toy for my dog or nice bath soap. The scented bath soap bars go in my chest drawers. My regular repeat customers will, on occasion/holiday, bring and leave extra dog treats to share or something they know our pup loves. It is All very much appreciated but not expected or required. If you have a Great pet sitter and want to give "something", a small gift that you know they can use is always appreciated.
Tipping is not required or expected. I would consider how much you are paying. If you are getting a great deal than maybe add a little ti once in awhile. If you are paying a premium rate you may consider something around the holidays. I personally don't expect a tip from my clients.
