Why have all of my prior "stay photos" all of a sudden become public?

Have been using Rover since around 2016. I'm a dog owner, not a sitter. I've booked dozens of walks, sitters, etc., over the years. For years my public profile had maybe a dozen pictures of my pup that I uploaded.

I was recently informed by a sitter that my profile all of a sudden now shows almost 800 photos from every single prior stay, etc., and I can't seem to figure out how to make them non-public. I don't think these sitters intended to make these photos public; some of them show pictures of their children, homes, workplaces, etc., with my dog. Certainly the sitter that informed me didn't know this. Seems like a major privacy issue, with no obvious workaround.

The only solution seems to be to use the website and "hide" each photo individually, which will take hours and require doing this every single stay. Is there a way to set STAY photos to be non-public by default?

Ironically, when I used the Rover automated system and asked this question, the response was to suggest deactivation.

I am having the same issue. Did reaching out to customer support help? I did find the opting in some service to turn off that setting. But still I feel like I’m invading some peoples privacy.
