Are there durable, moisture-proof couch cushion covers?

asked 2015-08-30 23:56:22 -0500

We have an extra couch cushion that we use as a dog bed, but we'd like to be able to have the option of using it on the couch in the future. Our mattress has protective covers that are completely moisture-proof and zip all the way around the mattress. I was wondering if there is something similar for couch cushions. I'm finding it hard to find anything online because it keeps coming up with furniture protectors.

I have a puppy that pees all the time..non stop. You're going to have to invest on plastic or tarp like material. Clean it often. It's uncomfortable but atleast it won't mess up the cousion. You can maybe look into an upolstery person and see if they know of any material they have used to reuploster furniture with.

We have the "Scotch Guard" on our sofa, but I still cover it with a comforter. Actually, we do that even when we don't have dogs in the house because we have a rambunctious little boy!
The pee pads under the comforter sound like a good idea too!

I put puppy pee pads on my sofa cushions and then put a washable quilt on top of them. Puppy can get on sofa and if accident happens, I can wash quilt and change the pee pads. Works for us.

I like Crypton fabrics. I buy them when they are on sale and make a cover for my furniture. When it is soiled, I toss it in the washer and dryer. It is good as new.
