My Rover isn’t home at the agreed drop off time. How can I escalate?

I booked a Rover, we had a meet and greet and everything was fine. I went to their house to drop off my dog and they aren’t home. What can I do?

This shows as posted 3 hours ago, sorry if there was a delay. If this hasn’t been resolved, call rover support at tel:[Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]. They could try to help by contacting sitter, taking action on their account, and reassign service to another sitter.(hopefully you can suggest a preferred alternate you considered).

I hope you called Rover. And hopefully also called your sitter too. Did they just say they are not home? Or are they not answering their calls/text altogether?

There is a lot of "Waiting" time that sitters need to make use of in a creative way. And everyone should understand that you are not sitting on the curb between 3:00 pm & 5:00 pm just waiting for them. For instance I had a drop in visit ( 30 min.) recently just a few blocks away & a drop off in 45 minutes or more. I left a note on my gate saying "Be back by 4:15pm/Had to run a quick errand. It's the polite thing to do And clients should also let you know if they are running late.

Accidents happen, mistakes when scheduling, forgetting to set alarm etc… let’s just hope it’s nothing serious like an emergency or auto accident or worse! Im sure they will get back to you with an explanation and apology!
