Do any sitters offer long-term boarding discounts?

We are looking to leave our sweet boy with someone for 6 months while we go through a transition of living places. I'm wondering since this is a guaranteed income for 6 months if sitters will offer discounts for long stays as many boarding places do. Thanks for any information!

I wanted to add something to watching a dog for that long one thing that kind of sucks for the sitter is they don't receive pay until after the entirety of the stay. So you may want to communicate with them and set it up like six one month stays because that's a long time to go without getting paid and I know some of us watchers like myself don't have it that well financially and that would be very helpful I also recommend what somebody else said that you may want to have a trial day with your pet with that sitter before booking for such a long period that way not only will you see if your dog gets along with the sitter but the sitter will be able to tell more likely if they would want to have hey dog for that long staying with them; I know me personally most of the dogs I watch are lovely and a great experience to watch however every once in a blue moon I get one dog that is out of control so I'd be hesitant to book a stay of that length without knowing if I was going to be stuck with a dog that was going to be awesome or a living hell before booking a 6 months stay. Just my opinion

You can have it as a recurring 'Doggy day care' plan, the owner pays Rover for the week, and the sitter get's paid two/three days later, you would have to fill a Rover card everyday, and the owner pays for the service fee once (as long as the recurring plan is still active)

Some sitters may and some will not. Each sitter is able to independently structure their business, including services, policies, rates.

I’d suggest that you might have better luck asking sitters of interest at the meet&greet if they’d want to book a shorter service prior to 6 months, so the pet (primarily), and your sitter, and you can get to know each other better first.

Well, for that long, you have to also budget for food, trips to the store, treats, dog shampoo. I'd say, do a bi weekly expense list for your dog and see if that's a number you're comfortable with providing to the sitter every two weeks.
