Hi Marnie, I am so sorry for your loss! You should reach out to the sitter and let them know. I am sure if you explain the situation, he/she should give you a full refund but it is up to the sitter depending on their cancelation policy. If your sitter is not willing to wave the cancelation fee, I would reach out to Rover Support at 1[Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] and see if they can help or wave the cancelation fee due to extreme circumstances.

Again I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

Thank you. The sitter has waived his fee in the meantime; I received a notice from Rover that I would get a refund yesterday. I appreciate that, and him and I regret that I will not have occasion to hire him again, as I have no other dogs.

What a wonderful sitter. I worry about my dog in case that happens before he goes to the sitter so it's very helpful that there are people out there that are kind although I would give them something because they had to block out time for your dog. You know even giving $100 or $50 to the sitter
