Dog barks in car?
My dog barks incessantly in my car like he’s a broken record out of excitement and anticipation. Everywhere we go, aside from the freeway. Thing is: he doesn’t bark AT ALL when my boyfriend drives him. He just chills. Keep in mind, my boyfriend only drives him to and from the same places as I do! 1. Why would my dog do this? 2. How can I stop this? It is so overwhelming. Nothing I do gets him to stop. I console him, no. Roll the window down so that he is distracted, no. Say “no,” yell (and don’t tell me I shouldn’t yell at him—I had to try everything and he’s caused me to have a few mental breakdowns in the car). I don’t know what to do anymore…
That’s a tough situation. Here’s a link to the AKC recommendation for dog anxiety in the car. It’s going to take patience but you can do it! Let me know how it goes. Best🐾 Delia Wing Pasadena, CA Just copy and paste https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/home-living/ask-trainers-get-dog-ride-car/
