Is it appropriate to leave a golden retriever puppy/dog alone all day five days a week?

Hey, I am looking to bring a fur baby into my life! I am currently looking at adopting a golden retriever puppy. However, i work and go to college 5 days a week, normally all day. I’m not sure i would feel comfortable leaving a dog, particularly a puppy, alone all day for their sake. What are your opinions? Kind regards, Georgia

It is absolutely not okay. You should not get a puppy if you are going to be gone that long. Is this a joke post?

Thank you for considering adopting a pet. Most pups need a potty break several times during the day as their bladder takes time to develop. Once you adopt, I would recommend hiring a walker to come in twice a day for the first few months, then down to once a day after the pup is 6 months old. Your pup will appreciate the breaks and gain a new friend. Best of luck
