How do you get a puppy to stop biting you?

I dog sat a puppy last weekend, but it wouldn't stop biting me. It bit my neck when I sat on the couch and attacked my hair. It also bit my hands when I put on its harness. The owners only left two toys that the puppy was not interested in playing with. It also tried chewing on my furniture and carpet. What other things could I give a puppy to chew on so it doesn't keep biting me or destroying my house?

If toys don't work, you could try treats or bones if it's okay with the owner. I like to use bully sticks for my dogs. It keeps them occupied for a while and satisfies their craving to chew/bite. I try to turn my back on dogs when they bite me and ignore them as best as I can. They typically want to get a reaction out of you, so if you ignore them they may get bored and stop. If this continues, you may want to discuss it with the owner. You can try using a spray bottle with water and spray them when they bite you. This will snap them out of the behavior and hopefully teach them that it's not acceptable. Definitely discuss some strategies with the owner!

Good luck!
