Floating around the FB Rover Groups - changes clients see when we archive?????????????

So now when a sitter archives a booking request a note appears on the booking request that the client can see, well isn't that just nice? Wish we could add a picture or screenshot!!

Does the reason show or only that the sitter has archived the request?

I could see why that was implemented. Rover sitters constantly gripe about clients who request a booking but don't follow through, forcing the sitter to archive. Since Rover encourages potential clients to contact multiple sitters when making a request, they inadvertently encourage a misunderstanding of how the process actually works. PC's don't realize they need to follow through with each and every request. To offset this, it seems Rover is now letting them know when the sitter declines (archives) the request.

I see how it helps Rover, and the client, and to a degree the sitter. Where the problem lies is that sitters often archive pending requests to keep their calendar availability open, and their inbox clean, and they retrieve it as needed. I wouldn't like the client to know I've archived them if they're just slow in the process.

I’m new! Help! What does archiving mean and when would be the cause to do so?

I recently had a request, scheduled the meet & greet, and found out at the client meeting she was interviewing 5 Rover sitters before she made her decision. That's 5 people whose availability she's taking up until she makes a decision. In my opinion, Rover should limit the requests to 3 sitters per

As long as the reason why that we pick when archiving isn’t shown, I don’t see why this would be a problem. Before archiving you should have already told the owner that you’re declining.

I most often archive when I don't hear back from a potential client. It feels petty to say "I haven't heard from you so I'm archiving your request." Instead, I just wait what I feel is a reasonable amount of time before archiving.

Rover advises that you tell the client when you archive a request. As a side note, many PC's (understandably) aren't familiar w/how the booking process works, and it certainly doesn't help that Rover suggests they contact multiple sitters.
