What is the daily cost to have a house sitter for 3 dogs, one needs meds daily?

We are looking at utilizing Rover house sitting services, yet I am not finding enough details on the sight to answer all of my questions. Like what is the daily cost for the sitter to stay at my house to watch our three dogs? Cost to administer daily meds to one. Do we need to provide food for the sitter? And the sitter stays at our home and possibly goes to their job? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! It depends on the sitter. Sitters establish their own rates and if they want to do overnight visits. Personally, I do overnight visits and there is no additional charge to administer meds. I normally bring my own food and go to work during the day but some sitters might be with your dogs all day

I think this is worked out with a sitter you request? I'm not sure, as I'm a new walker/sitter. I know my prices are listed in the app? I'm not sure what prospective clients see though.

Hi Dawna,

Welcome to Rover. Well I hate to say it but these are all questions that you and the sitter will need to go over. The one that you will be asking these questions to will be the sitter you choose.

To try and help you out a little more... how Rover works is we all are independent contractors so there is not one set price we all must charge or that we all must do.

So you are going to want to do a search with the dates that you are looking for a sitter on. You will then see a list of different sitters in your area. You are welcome to message one, two, three, or more sitters that you think you would like to meet. Each sitter has a profile page that tells you their prices along with a little information about themselves. (To see all the prices for the sitter you will need to click on additional services, in which you will find additional dog prices ) Most sitters do not charge to administer medications, however, you do want to mention in your pets profile that your pet in on a daily medication. As far as the sitter staying at your home and possibly going to their job really depends on each sitter, not all sitters have a 9-5 job so their schedules are more flexible then others.

Once you found some sitters you would be interested in, send them a message to see of they are available and if so schedule a meet and greet. The meet and greets are no charge. This gives you and the sitter a chance to meet and go over the details. During the meet and greet is where you can discuses with the sitter what your expectations are. (For example if you do not want your pet left alone for more than 2 hours a day, or If you don't want the sitter to have house guests, or if you want your pets fed at a certain time, ect.) I find it helpful to let the sitter know what you want or do not want them to do. The best advise I can give you, is don't expect a sitter to be able to read your mind. More often then not, they are not going to know how you like certain things done, unless you tell them. As for them eating your food. I normally bring all of my own food but even then some clients will still supply food and/or tell me to help myself. So again it is totally your call... If you do not want the sitter to eat your food just let them know during the meet and greet.

I suggest writing down a list of your questions so you and the sitter can go over all your questions. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time so if the first meet and greet does not go as planned you can try ... (more)
