Dog sitting at owner's home?

Hi I am new to Rover so I have this question... when dog sitting at someone else's property overnight. how does it work? Am I suppose to stay there the entire night or can I step out for a bit... Lets say to my house to pick up some lunch and come right back. what is the protocol on sitting at someone's house?

You need to talk to the owner about what their expectations are. Most owners will be totally fine with you leaving for a bit if you need to. You need to find out what they would like you to do with the dog while you are gone, like if the dog needs to be crated or put in a specific area in the house or something like that.
