Why isn't there a way to archive a deceased dog's profile instead of deleting it?

I'd like to suggest a simple solution for owner's to show on their profile that one of their dog's has passed away. My Border Collie died last month and clicking "Remove Chase's Profile" was unnecessarily traumatic. Instead, I think there should be an option to either show the dog's date of death, thus deactivating that profile, or at least a button to "archive" that profile--perhaps dimming the photo--but not deleting it. You're in the business of making dogs and the people that love them feel happy and safe. Deleting a profile is painful. Please consider an easy way to honor their lives once they have passed with a way to deactivate, but not delete, their profile. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this request. I am in the same situation. I don't want to delete my dog's profile, as he had great experiences with a number of sitters. It is traumatic to delete his profile; at the same time, it is distressing to receive marketing emails to my dog and me.

I have a client who lost a pup 2 months ago, this week they got a new pup and I asked them to add Ranger to the profile so I could have it added to my booking. I didn't ask them to remove their old dog's profile, hard to ask them. I also lost a pup 1 year ago, but decided to keep her on my profile. But I understand your question and wish it were an option.

This is a really old post, but there is a way to Memorialize pet profiles now. You just go to your pets profile, go to edit, then the option to Memorialize the profile is there.

Do you know if there’s a way we can get an old profile back and memorialize it? I just had a dog die and was able to memorialize it - so painful, but much easier than deleting my dog from 2018. I would love to see her in the memorial part now too. Any ideas on if this is possible?
