Look on your dashboard, Rover has listed several ways to advertise your business - Facebook, craigslist, twitter, etc. And Rover is having a contest right now for craigslist listings. Word of mouth is good too. Some people have contacted clinics and asked to place their business cards. Get business cards made up and give them to your friends and family.

To get business from the rover website, make sure that your profile is complete and has lots of pictures. Check other sitters in your area to see what the average rate is, and at first set your rate a little lower, just to attract attention. As time goes on and you get more bookings, you can raise your rates.

It will take time to get your first client, so just be patient.

Craigslist and Facebook have been best for me. I have only been a sitter for 2 weeks and have had 5 people contact me. I post to craigslist as often as your allowed and also in a more specific region. For me it's the northwest suburbs of Chicago, not just Chicago as a whole since there are so many sitters there. Much less in a small area I have been finding. Also I posted on Facebook and was lucky enough to have friends and family share my post and that has brought me a whole bunch of attention as well.
