What services are included with pet boarding?

What specific services are included with the pet boarding fee? Are there additional charges for walks and medication administration if he is boarded?

Every sitter on the Rover platform is an independent contractor and determines what is included with boarding in their home. Most don't charge extra for daily walks, but you need to check profiles to see if they will administer medications, again most will.

Rover has loosely defined services, which enables pet parents and sitters to agree on what is needed. Personally, I think that the boarding fee should include all necessary care that you'd provide own pet (so, yes that would include walks and medication administration). Rover sitters operate as independent contractors and many sitters have different views about this. I'd suggest you ask and confirm your understanding with any sitter of interest. You can do so in written messages prior to a meet & greet.

In answer to Laura's question, generally boarding does Not include the food as many dogs have specialized dietary needs (due to allergies, activity level, size/breed, and other preferences such as what protein favored) and changing food can lead to "tummy troubles" GI upset and diarrhea.

Do they supply the food?

I ask my clients to bring the dogs food, toys, whatever they sleep on and anything that would make them more comfortable. I talk to the owner about what each dog needs. If it needs three walks a day because it is super high energy....done. If medication needs to be given...done. I take tons of pictures and videos during the whole stay.

Now if the dogs needs something while it’s here that they didn’t bring, I’ll make sure I can get it. For example, I have two crates, bring them out If their dogs need them. Most of all, what service is included in boarding a dog in my house is love, attention, play, comfort and making sure the owners know their animal is getting the best care!

No additional charges for walks or medication administration. They are at my house, so I do what their owners do.
