Can I look for a pet sitting replacement through Rover if Im not a member of Rover?

Hi,

Im a pet sitter and recently moved to a new town and am considering working for Rover. Right now I am in a situation where I need to find a replacement for a pet/house sit sitting job for one of my clients. Can I do that through Rover if Im not yet a member? Im looking to find someone with senior dog experience and possibly medically trained.

Thanks

Lisa

I agree with Karen's comment, the dog owner should create a Rover profile and search for a sitter. Lisa I applaud you for wanting to find a replacement sitter to cover for you it's not a good idea for you to attempt to use Rover in behalf of the dog owner - best of luck to you

Thank you. I was feeling a bit guilty for cancelling and a little responsible. Ultimately its up to the owners to figure out what to do. Poor old girl has made a turn for the worse in the past day or so and maybe not a good job for anyone.

Hi Lisa, I am not exactly sure what you mean by "member", But I am hoping this answers your question...

No, You do have to Pet Sitter to find a replacement but Yes, you do have to sign up as a pet owner to be able to contact a sitter, You can either put the pet under your name and information or use the clients information down making sure you use your email and phone number so the sitter can contact you and not the owner who is out of town.

I'm not sure that is legally possible or practicable since she would only be able to use that "owner" profile for that one pet. She is not the "legal" owner of the pet and Rover's TOS is between Pet Owners and Service Providers.

I guess I was kind of assuming that she had notified the owner of her plans so it would really be account for the dog and her real owners? I guess to play it safe you can call Rover Support so they can enter your information along with giving you leads to another sitter.

Initially I thought I could try and find someone with senior dog experience. I felt a bit responsible for backing out of the job. The owners were so nice and understanding of my decision. And in the past day or so poor old girl has made a turn for the worse. I got to see her. She's very frail

I mentioned I would help them find a replacement on Rover. I think they are overwhelmed with a trip coming up and their girl making a turn for the worse. I thought I could find the right fit for old gal then they could sign up for Rover to book the sitter. I need to join and learn more. Thanks!
