Trying to set up account and it wont take my phone, says I have registered but I cannot find or delete the mystery account?

I appear to have 2 accounts- how do I get rid of one and make the new one accept my phone? And why CAN'T someone have a phone number in two accounts. That seems strange.

I am having the same issue. I am not sure how I have two accounts as I only use one email and I am not able to find the second account. I would also love to know the answer.
