How does client phone number work?

Profiles of Sitters say they may contact you at anytime with questions. How does that work?

Both customers and rover hosts have a phone number (not your personal number), that is used for contacting each other. You can also do the drop down box (your requests and booked services) and see (Customer Name) may call your Rover number: "anytime", "once you booked a stay or walk" or "never". That would be your personal preference.

I usually give the customer my own phone # (and address) when the meet & greet is booked. The customer and you aren't suppose to see each others real ph # but in the past, I see the customers' real phone number come up on my caller ID so I know whose calling and if it is a customer. Otherwise, if I don't recognize the number I won't answer the phone but check a few minutes later for a message. I get to many robo calls.

To expand on Kathleen's response, I save my client's Rover number in my phone contacts and tag them Client name, dogs name, and Rover so if I get a text or call I immediately know who it is.
