my dog has a cut on his front paw and is limping, should he go to the vet?

I'm watching a dog in my house for a few days and i noticed he was limping, so I looked at his front paw and part of it was cut open :( no bleeding or anything, just a flap of dead skin but I'm not sure what I should do? contacted his parents and i'm going to take it easy on walks for right now. thanks

I also would have contacted the parents. Depending on the relationship with their or your vet, you may be able to get some information / recommendation over the phone. With a cut on the paw, if it gets infected, it will require antibiotics. Here's a link with possible reasons behind the limp: http://www.medicinenet.com/pets/dog-h...islimping.htm
