Can you be succesful on Rover without staying overnight?

Hello, I am relatively new to rover and have done a few stays. Most dog owners so far have not requested me to stay overnight at their homes. I actually kind of prefer to do more of a "pop in several times a day to hang out with/walk/let outside/take to the park."

I'm am just looking to find out if others think I can still be successful with sitting if I offer this service? I love dog sitting, but it gets a little tough being away from my family at nights. I just want to find a way to not let dog owners down and also to be successful on this site.

I offer the same thing, I call it "Potty relief visits". I will go to the customers home twice a day and care for the pup just like you stated. I don't get many request for that mostly boarding in my home. I guess if there is a need in your area people will contact you. I would be very honest on your profile on how much time and the type of service you will provide. I hope that helps. Happy sitting, Amber G

Of course! This is your business so run it for your preferences. Just make sure that you make clear in your headline or at least the first sentence that you only do daytime travel to the owner's house. That way you won't get requests that you have to turn down...that would affect your search ranking.

And make sure to explain your rates and your services in your profile. If something is unclear or incomplete, a client will just move on. Add additional services to increase your income: home visits/feeding/sitting...take the dog to the groomer and vet...take the dog to the dog park/dog trail...offer to give the dog a bath/brushout. Give options like half day/full day rates. Even break it down into 20-60 minutes for walking/visiting, etc. How far can you travel? Tell the client where you will be walking their dog..etc, etc.

You must be doing something right if you're already getting bookings. Follow up with them, stay in touch...repeat clients are gold.

Remember a client can only contact you with a formal request through Rover, so put in something like "Please request via overnight booking and I will adjust your quote". You can edit any stay request.

I have had two clients so far that have selected my traveling sitter profile. I offer 2-3 visits a day, one in the morning to feed, play and let out to potty; one mid-day to walk or play and potty; and one in the evening to walk and potty. I also offer to water plants, bring in the mail, and turn lights on and off. Feeding visit depends on the client. I've had more requests to board dogs in my home, but some owners prefer to leave their dogs in a familiar environment. I charge $5 less per day for the traveling service, but that all depends on your area.
