how do I get a stubborn dog to walk with me on it's leash?
I just did a meet and greet with a new dog. The dog liked me a lot and slobbered me with kisses. When I went on a trial walk with the dog, he would not budge an inch. He just sat and would not move so took him back to his owner. What should have I done to get it to walk with me. I tried little treats and playful talk but that did not work. What should have I done?
Did you ask the owner how they walk with him? On occasion you have to wait a few a seconds for the dog to trust you. Did you walk the same direction as their owner? Since you just meet the dog he most likely needs more time trusting you.
