I'm new...if you sit at THEIR home...

If you choose to sit at someone's home does that mean you spend the entire time they are out of town at their home, or do you go over, take dogs out, play with them, feed them, etc... at certain times? How does it work?

I think you have people that would be interested in both. Personally, I visit several times a day (as agreed upon) like Cari does. I don't think I would feel comfortable sleeping at someone else's house. I also assume your fee would be much higher as they are essentially hiring you for 24 hours.

It all depends on what the owners want. This is what you would discuss at the meet and greet. I have had several traveling sitter assignments and none have wanted me to stay at their house. I go over 3 times a day, to feed, play with, and walk the dog, turn on lights at night, take in the mail, that sort of thing. If you do stay overnight, be sure to find out details about what you can and cannot use, like kitchen privileges, TV, internet, etc. Again, discuss all this at the meet and greet.

Yes, as Cari said this all depends on the owners wishes and all the details need to be discussed during the meet&greet. I've done both, but more frequently visit 3-4 times a day, as my dog goes with me everywhere, so all my clients understand sleeping there means me, my dog, and their dog(s) slumber party style all together. ahh furry love :)
