First meet and greet recommendations?

I am very excited to have my first meet and greet in the am. I am wanting to make sure I cover everything to make sure this is a good fit for both of us. I welcome any recommendations on specific questions and topics I should cover. Thank you!

Hi Kristin:

Congratulations on getting your first meet & greet! I suppose certain questions are service dependent, for instance there would be different questions asked for boarding vs. walking. Anyway, I only do travel services (House sitting, Drop in visits, and Walks). I always start with the health of the dog...Are they on any meds? Do they have allergies? Is the health being monitored for possible illnesses? This leads to personality of the dog....high energy?, etc. Then I ask for vet info (and if the client included that in the dog's Rover profile). I also ask for a local ER contact in case I can't get a hold of them. Then if appropriate, I ask about food/feeding....what kind of food and how often do they eat/times? Also treats...what are the dog's favorite treats? Does the dog usually have to perform tricks for treats - or is there a certain phrase or routine for the dog to earn a treat? What type of harness/leash does the client use on the dog? Is the dog kennel/crate trained? Does the dog like other dogs - cats - people, etc. Is the dog fearful of thunderstorms, fireworks, or other loud noises? So basically anything that has to do with the dog's day to day care. I pre-make my list of questions in a notebook and go through them one by one so I don't forget anything.

Thank you so much for this great info! This is extremely helpful. I am excited to start my business! I know some of this is common sense, and I know it will get better as I go along.
