Should I ask for proof of identification from my sitter?

My sitter also wants their girlfriend to stay at our home with him during our vacation.... should I ask for her identification as well?

Having a friend or family member stay over or visit sounds really unprofessional. The exception to that is if both are representing themselves as a pet caregiver team, and both meet your pets to ensure it's a match.

Re. the ID question, Rover does perform a background check. So, I don't think you need to ask for an ID from a Rover sitter. Understandably, you'd want to secure and put away valuables/confidential info. and communicate where the sitter(s) and pet(s) can and can't be.

I agree, I would never ask that of a pet parent...but if someone offered or asked me I may let them bring a relative if it was a holiday weekend. But you have to wonder...are they looking to sit your pet or have a free staycation? Also, girlfriend implies sex...are they staying in your bed and using the hot tub. Unprofessional and Gross.
