Does dog sitting only cover the evening and next morning care? If I stay for multiple nights and they have expectation of care during the day is this supposed to be included or should they also pay for drop in and/or walking service?

I am new and not sure what is included in dog sitting service.

An overnight stay is considered 24 hrs. Some sitters would charge a day care fee if they have to watch the dog another full day, others don't. Its up to you, but you should make it clear with the client first.

Both house sitting and boarding are for up to 24 hours per "nightly" charge per Rover's FAQ:

As an independent contractor, you can choose to do whatever you'd like and set whatever rates/hours you'd like but be sure that the customer understands what they're paying for BEFORE you book any jobs.

I view such care as all-inclusive. Providing care for a client's pet includes feeding, walking, playing and sleeping. Housesitting should be viewed as a premium-type service because you have to uproot yourself and stay at someone else's home, plus you may need to do some little things for the client, like taking in mail, watering plants, etc. Be sure to go over their expectations during the M&G. Also, if you are going to come and go while in residence for walking other dogs or doing drop-ins, be sure your client knows about your other commitments. Very few are going to require that you stay there 24/7 without being able to leave.
