Client wants 5 night stay over with 1 dog and 2 cats, do I charge extra for drop in visits and per animal?

I was recently requested for a 5 day overnight. The message states they have 1 dog and 3 cats, but the booking is only for 1 dog. Also, do I charge extra for a pop in visit during the day, or is my rate for 24 hrs?

Your rate is for 24 hours of pet care, but it doesn't mean you have to stay there 24/7. You might have errands to run, other clients to service for walks or drop-ins. But you should be spending a majority of your time in the home especially at night. There is no "overnight" rate or service. It is boarding or house sitting and both are for 24 hours of care, which includes feeding, walking, etc.

The cats need to be listed with Rover. I did notice that you have a fairly high rate for cats, when they really don't take all that much care. You may want to revisit that rate and have a small, negligible one for the "additional" cats.

From postings on this forum over the years, it isn't unusual for customers to try to slip in additional pets. You have the opportunity to get it fixed from the outset, but I would encourage you to come up with a more realistic charge for those cats, which Rover would bill at $40/night.

I asked the cats' human to list them on the profile, and I charge a cat rate for each cat. I'm not sure whether they'd be covered by the Rover insurance if they're not listed. I don't want to be responsible for their health or accidents, or whether they run away, if I'm not getting paid to watch them.

There's different services for pet sitting (overnight) and "Drop-in visits" and you can price each accordingly. Since you could possibly do a drop-in and still have an overnight booked, you can set your calendar to offer bookings accordingly. Most overnighter pets can be left for errands or to check in with other animals that you have booked for walking or drop-ins.
