Flakey Client part 2?

When you set up a meet and greet do you always have to ask the client for their address or is there somewhere I can just see it? Both clients just assumed I saw their address as they have it added to their profile but I had to aski because I can't see it.. Am I doing this right? Should I be able to see a potential client's full profile? all I can see are dog descriptions nothing about the owner......

The client or sitters address is not provided until the booking is accepted by both parties. Yes it is a pain to have to ask them for their address or provide your home address. Many sitters conduct M&G's at a neutral site to be sure the pup and client are a good fit.

It can be uncomfortable asking for their address to set up a meet and greet but in all honesty, you can read people so much better in their own environment as well as their pet. I would think it more stressful meeting in a busy park or somewhere else. Especially if your going to be spending alone time in their home. They may have special towels the never use and now you've cleaned those muddy paws perfectly. You know little things like that. I required to meet in person or family when I was breeding pugs...and their were times I would NOT give my babies to families. I felt it in my guts and couldn't in good faith let them take a baby of mine. It is uncomfortable, awkward meeting strangers but if you hit it off, dog is great well it was worth it 😁

I do not allow customers to come to my home for the first visit for safety reasons. I prefer not to meet at their home the first time either. I always pick a park or pet store convenient to both of us so I can see if I feel comfortable. I will do a second visit at their home or mine. I'm a very petite female and simply don't feel safe otherwise. Also, I don't want everyone knowing where I live, who lives there, etc. I've had clients try to insist but I always let them know the second visit can be anywhere they choose.

I always ask for their address, so I can propose a meet and greet and tell the client I would love for them to show me how they would like me to take care of the dog and stuff around :) Never had any problems. All clients agree I should see the dogs and the house, and they can also see how the dog and I react to each other.

You can also put the zip code in the "where" box, and explain to the person that the address is not shown until both parties agree. This is a safety/security thing for both parties. I prefer to meet at the client's house especially if the first walk, the owner will not be home to let the dog know I am approved person in the house. I have had more than one dog, who even after meeting me made sure to let me know that I was invading their home. Once the dog came up and smelled me, heard my voice, they usually relaxed and agreed to go out for a walk.

Im confused. They said you were invading their home? If people act like that do I have to accept the job?

Addresses are released only when stays are booked for privacy of both parties! Meet and Greets are a great way to meet on neutral ground so would promote a safe location. Otherwise you can just reach out and ask for the location and if it is there resident ask for the address. : )

I always meet at the clients home first. It would be unrealistic to meet anywhere else. Dogs can be territorial and meeting in their space with their owners can help you both in the long run. I’ve had over 50 clients and have never had an issue meeting in their home.
