What more can I do to get clients?

I have posted on craigslist, I have been to the neighborhoods site and posted there, and I am getting absolutely nowhere. Is it really this hard to get a job in the beginning?

It does take a little time to start getting clients. Looks like you're doing the right things to get the word out. I would also suggest checking the rates of other sitters in your area to see how you compare. Have you gotten business cards and a promo code? Hand them out to your friends and family. Word of mouth is the best referral. Look through this forum to get other ideas. Remember, you're the new kid on the block, so it may take awhile for new owners to find you.

Hi Jaymee - I also looked at your profile. I would suggest a Lot more pics. I also couldn't even find your profile when doing a search for your area? I'm not sure why, but make sure all of your info is correct for your area. I tried Vancouver, WA and Marrion, Vancouver, WA and your profile was not listed with the 40? other profiles on there. I would highly suggest lowering your rates until you get established. They seemed high for the area compared to those who have a lot of reviews and experience. Best wishes and luck for you.

I think it took me about 3 - 4 weeks to get my first booking. After that, it was steadily busy. Some areas don't have a very high demand for the service as others do, so it might not be anything you're doing wrong - simply supply and demand.

I agree with Cari. It does take some time getting started at first. I have done craigslist,

buissness cards and or even advertising. It just takes some time.

I briefly reviewed your profile. I'd highly recommend adding more photos of the dogs that you've cared for, even if it was prior to your Rover profile. And since you have prior experience sitting neighbor's dogs, ask them to write a Testimonial. An email link "Get Testimonials & Reviews" on the Rover Dashboard, states "Top Rover sitters have 2 or 3 testimonials describing their experience with dogs. Pet parents like to see that other people have trusted you to care for their dogs. Ask friends, family, or former clients to describe your dog-sitting skills."
