Am I charging correctly for Overnight bookings?
I have several clients booking me for Overnight stays, but only want me there from morning until evening at their house. Most of these clients work long hours and want someone with their dog all day long without leaving their house. My current rate for Overnight bookings is $25.00/night. If I'm at a client's house from 7AM - 4PM (9 hours) and do not leave, I am making $2.22/hour (after Rover's fees). This doesn't seem right to me. Drop-In Visits are $12 per 30 minutes. It seems that this is more of an extended Drop-In Visit, so at $12 per 30 minutes for 9 hours that would be $216. I know that's insane and no one would pay that, but $2.22/hour seems pretty crazy, as well. Any advice? How do people usually handle clients that book like this? Do you charge by the hour?
