Why does my dog cough in the morning?
My dog coughs as soon as he wakes up. Is this natural? It seems almost involuntary. Is he sick?

A cough can remove irritants from the respiratory pathway. However, a cough may also signal infection such as infectious tracheobronchitis, also known as kennel cough, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis. I'd suggest a vet visit.
