Why does my dog eat mud?
This is a question that we often get from sitters and owners who work with Rover. Help the community out by answering them in our forum!
The reasons why a dog would chow down on dirt and grass are varied. He could have a medical condition, a behavior problem, or he could be malnourished.
There are several reasons why your pup may be eating mud. It could be as simple as boredom, or as complicated as your pup lacking certain minerals in his/her diet. Sometimes pups will eat dirt or grass to get those minerals. If the behavior persists, I would speak to your local Veterinarian to get an opinion and make sure your pup is happy and healthy :)
