How do I register my dog?

To register your dog through the AKC, you will need to obtain the registration application from the breeder from whom you purchased your dog.

If you contact your city, the animal services division licenses/registers dogs & puppies (puppies usually cost more $). They will also inform you of any documentation needed, such as proof of rabies.

It depends on what you are trying to register the dog for... If register with the county: it depends on the state and county, but usually you can register online through the county website or local county humane society. You need proof of vaccinations, vet information, proof of residency and registration fee.
