What is going rate for an overnight stay?

It says on my profile that my going rate is $20/night. $40 for a weekend of being away from my family, my own dogs, gas money going back and forth, walking dog(s), etc...I feel like I'm losing more money than I'll make. Is that really going rate? If not how do I change it? Couldn't find a place to edit amount.

Check out profiles of other sitters in your area to find out what their charges are. Then like Amber said, start out a bit lower and gradually increase your price with experience.

You can edit your price under the Services and Rates tab when editing your profile. I started at $25/night and am now at $35. Keep in mind you may want to keep your price lower to get a few bookings and reviews, then gradually increase it.

But I'm curious if the rate for overnight JUST includes the overnight care...For example, if I'm doing overnight stays for a weekend (two nights) and let's say my rate is $20/night, would I also charge for each visit I make during the day to check in on them?

Hi have you found an answer to this problem? I agree it’s like two days in one with the amount of hours some people want during the day

Set your rate for what you think your time is worth. I started at $40 a night if there is more then one pet i charge $50-$55 a night. I am travel sitter. In my area no one has a problem with my rates.
