My dog sleeps all the time, is that a bad sign?

It isn't a bad thing if they are still active otherwise! Getting them out to play, run, walk, a few times a day is fine. If they have no interest in anything, food, treats, toys, walks, then you might want to have your vet take a look. :D Odds are, they are just comfortable!

Adult dogs can sleep for as much as 12 hours out of 24! Dogs sleep more than we do, they also wake more frequently, so they tend not to get a long period of unbroken sleep. As they age, dogs can naturally sleep more, but if they’re sleeping excessively, it can be an indication of a health problem.

Dogs should sleep, on average, 12-14 hours a day. However, due to breed type or age, they may sleep more or less. I would say that as long as your dog is healthy, eating well, drinking well, having normal bowel movements, and is of a proper weight, then it is fine!

It is not necessarily a bad thing if your dog sleeps a lot. Depending on the age and older dog may sleep 20 or more hours a day. It could be caused from moving to a new home or being adopted. Also could be if the owners are gone the dog may seem a little depressed and want to sleep a lot.

Depends on the age of the dog. Older dogs will sleep more, younger ones less but most dogs will sleep between 12-15 hours a day. If you feel it's too much, give the animal more opportunities for exercise.
