Why can't I give out my own promo code to a client via text message?

When I have forgotten to give a potential owner my business card during a Meet and Greet, why can I not give them my promo code Via text message. It just shows up as a line of dots?

Rover doesn't allow us to send the promo code through Rover communication since it's intended only for new clients (who therefore theoretically shouldn't be on the site yet). You're probably texting their Rover number (or texting from yours) so it's going through the site and blocking the code.

The best way to give your client your promo code is to call them on their Rover number. As long as the booking hasn't been finalized they can add it to the booking

Yep! I do what Walt does. I have a detailed information sheet I give "New To Rover Customers" to take that has my coupon code (also reminds me to tell them).
