Why does my dog bite his nails?
My dog bites his nails all the time, I never have to trim them!! Isn't this super unsanitary? Should I do something?
I took my dog to the vet for this very reason and he told me allergies are just as bad for animals as it is for humans. He told me to give my dog a benadryl a day...And it definitely helped!
It could be a food issue. I would talk to the vet about trying a different food.
Your dog might have an allergy, similar to humans having hay fever. Biting their nails and paws is a sign of an inhaled allergy in dogs. Your vet might be able to diagnose it.
I agree that it can be allergies. But there could also be another underlying issue, like anxiety. Or maybe they are long and get on his nerves? It's always best to talk to your vet about any concerns!
