I have filled out all request up to this point. I really wish I knew in advance of paying for back round check my Soc.Sec was required. Why is this and security is a major concern these days!

There are many things I take issue with on how Rover does business but I do believe their website has rock solid security. Always double check that the page on which you are entering sensitive info has https://.... in the address bar. That s after the http shows security measures are in place on that page.
Naturally it is not 100% foolproof, cyber theft can happen anytime, anywhere. Anyone doing business like Rover, Uber etc has to factor that in as something they are willing to risk or not. If not, then doing this kind of business is not for you. You'll also have to give your address to people for Meet & Greets via the site. Either you trust it or you don't.
