How do I report a sitter?

I have used Rover before and have had a great experience. This time, we decided to visit the home of a sitter a week prior to our trip, just to make sure everything was ok. The sitter's profile states she has one dog, however, she has three. One of her dogs is an extremely aggressive pit bull (by her description) who attacked a dog in the past and ran away from home over a year ago. They recently got the dog back and she told me it was locked up most of the time. Before we went to her house I asked her if her one dog (the only one listed on her profile) was a male or female, since my female aussie is an alpha female. She said he was a boy. No mention of the aggressive female pit, or the other pit. Her dogs were in the backyard. There was a fire pit and trash every where and they were drinking out of a bird bath filled with stagnant water. The neighbors also had 2 or 3 pits and her dogs were running back and forth along the fence growling and barking aggressively. She has great reviews on her page, so maybe this was a one-off, but it sure didn't seem like it. I'd like to leave a review on her page but it doesn't seem like I can since I didn't book her. People need to know what kind of situation they are putting their pets in.

I completely agree with Deb! But, I would also suggest you contact Rover Match and have them help find another sitter that meets your criteria and you could do a meet & greet with as soon as possible, especially if you have concerns with the present one you are considering. With all the new-to-rover sitters, there is one that would be a Great fit. Please, make sure to read each sitters profile in Full.

This sounds like something Rover needs to be aware of and follow up to see if the sitter's profile is complete and accurate. It sounds like it could matter to Rover's Trust & Safety department, even though no incident occurred (thankfully) during the m&g. Her statement that an aggressive pit bull who attacked another dog was locked up MOST of the time is what I'd think is most concerning. What if after a rough experience you find out that the sitter has a criminal history and was recently arrested? Even if it had nothing to do with animals per say?

I’d suggest Informing rover. All sitters are background check when they apply to be sitters. I’m not aware if rover checks again at any time after that and rover likely would not know about a recent arrest. Rover looks at If it relates to trust&safety, even if not animal related.
