Rover has no rules about this and having more than one dog makes it less desirable. There is a potential for major complications by bringing your dogs into another dog's home. Dogs are territorial and there could be clashes. Moreover, your dogs could cause damage or the owner might claim your dogs damaged something in their home. The best thing would be to NOT bring your dogs. If I were an owner arranging for house-sitting services. I wouldn't want the sitter to bring along her dog, let alone more than one.

When you house sit, like boarding, no one should realistically expect you to be there 24 hours a day. Most of us have a life. Discuss your plans with the owner about how you do have dogs and plan on returning home a few times a day to attend to their needs. Let them know how long you would be gone. I would think most owners wouldn't have a problem with that so long as you spent the majority of your time in their home, making sure their dog was well taken care of, and their house wasn't empty during the night.

Make sure your Profile describes your situation, so that potential clients don't waste their time interviewing you, only to find out that you want to bring dogs into their home. Clients need to understand fully about the service you will offer and agree.

I agree. Bringing either another dog or another person to a house sitting location is just not right. It brings into play insurance liability, as Karen said, for possible damage or injury to any other animal or person in the house.

The M&G is the time to discuss the owner expectations of your duties and responsibilities. I always tell my potential house sitting owners that I would like to be able to go home at least once a day to check on my house, bring in the mail, and also occasionally to run some errands if it's a longer stay. Ask if their animals are ok with being left alone for short periods of time and where they stay when they are alone. I have not had an owner yet have a problem with me leaving once a day or once every other day for short periods of time.
