How to keep my from barking at the TV?

I have A 6 1/2 year old pug named Tux. He is the best dog... except when we turn the TV on. It started with just animals, and now it has progressed to all noises and sudden movement on the TV. He can even see the animals on the screen when I am fast forwarding. He props his front paws on the TV stand and proceeds to scratch it until I can get to him to make him stop.

We have tried everything, spray bottles (which worked for the longest time, but now it doesn't even phase him), distracting him when the TV is on with bones and toys (he only plays with tennis balls), positive reinforcement... etc. I have tried to "Cesar Millan" him with being the "pack-leader" and nothing seems to stop him. For now we have him leashed so he at least won't scratch the stand, but the barking is still there and we need to find a solution. He is a wonderful member of the family in all other aspects, and we don't want to have to remove him from TV time, but something has to give. HELP!

When you are fast-forwarding, the animals will appear to be moving for him. Dogs' eyes are able to receive visual input at a faster rate than humans, so when the TV is going at normal speed, it will only appear as constantly changing pictures, rather than the smooth stream that we see.

He is not only barking when it is fast forwarding, I was just trying to explain how intense he watches and pays attention to the TV. It's all the time.

Thank you, I have already read that article. I am not joking when I said I have exhausted all other means of solving this. I just thought I would throw the question out there to see if anyone else had any luck with something I haven't tried.

Wow! I'm sorry I've been no help. I hope someone who has experience with this dilemma can give you some guidance.

Thank you for taking the time, I really do appreciate it, I hope someone who has/had this problem sees it and can give me some advice other then the usual first attempts.
