How long do you isolate your pets with Kennel cough for?

How long should you isolate your pet with kennel cough? My dog has been coughing a bit and I suspect it may be kennel cough (Dr. apt is tomorrow). I'm wondering if I should cancel all upcoming bookings and if so how far out should I cancel? He started coughing a few days ago and it's seeming to get better but I want to be safe, and have never dealt with this before. Please advise!

Also wondering what if there are multiple dogs in home or what if there's a chain link fence that separates yards between dogs? I will be directing these questions to the vet tomorrow but thought there would be other sitters who have gone through this before.

Actually you don't need to isolate them for six weeks. If you use liquid bluing in the dogs water it goes away. As a person who has been involved in dog shows since birth and my parents are stewards, breeders and showers my mom has used the product for years and it goes away in a couple days.

You should isolate him for about 6 weeks and don't let him near any other dogs even if there is a fence between the dogs. I would suggest you give him a spoonful of coconut oil everyday for about a week and the kennel cough will go away on its own. It's a natural way of getting rid of it it worked on my dog not sure if you would like to try it. Hope this helps.

6 weeks is unnecessary. What are you taking about ??? 2 weeks max - Even 1 is enough provided symptoms subside . That’s overkill

In my area there is a new vaccine for cough from dogs drinking mosquito infected water. We have had a ton of rain and there is a lot of standing water. So I am very cautions to make sure none of my dogs drink or lick any water outside.
