How do I know the pet sitter I tried to contact has received my request?

If the sitter is not interested will they text me that?

Rover sitters should respond within 24 hours to your request, either to say they want to pursue the booking or to say they aren't available. Rover has a policy guideline of responding within 1 hour, but sometimes that's not possible. If you haven't heard back from them in 24 hours, I would either contact Rover customer support or move on to another sitter.

If you're a new client to rover, it's also a good idea to contact several sitters and do a meet and greet with each to determine who is the best fit for you and your dog. That way, you're not wasting your time sitting around waiting on a response.
