About: Hi, I’m Hanna! I’m very excited to meet more pets in my neighbourhood. I have been a professional dog walker for over 2 years with 15 repeat customers and over 150 5 star reviews. I’m very excited to now be offering my services on Rover! I’ve lived with and have experience pet-sitting and caring for dogs and cats (and rodents and fish, even chickens!) of all breeds, sizes and ages. My pet kitty Henry recently passed away at the age of 20, and he dealt with health concerns his last few years so I am familiar and comfortable with all types of medication administration, including injections and subcutaneous (SQ) fluids if needed. I appreciate your interest in booking with me and am very excited to meet both you and your pets! I currently work from home Monday-Friday 9-5 so am available for walks and drop-ins early morning, in the evening, over lunch and on weekends. I am based out of Yellowknife so while I am currently working remote and travelling across Canada, I am still in town regularly. Please check my calendar for the most up-to-date availability! Meet and Greets are the best way for me to learn about your pet’s (and plant’s) specific routine and care needs to ensure they are living their happiest and healthiest lives. This is also a great opportunity to go over any house rules. Meet and greets are a great way for us to meet before setting up regular walks.

About: I have over 10 years of experience with my two chocolate labs at home which we've had since puppies. I also have experience walking and caring for rescure dogs through volunteer work at the NWT SPCA. Through that work I also had the opportunity to take care of 1-2 month old puppies that were in between foster homes. I love dogs, I have lots of experience, reading energies and handing reactive dogs, as well as I am an athlete and missing my dogs at home! I love the outdoors and would love the opportunity to get outside and get some animal love time! I am a student attending the University of Alberta- Augustana Campus, I am available all mornings, some lunch times between 10:30-2:30, and most evenings minding a once-a-week evening class. I go away to visit family on some weekends, but am mostly looking for work during the week. At home, I have a fenced in yard and use strong leads that are regularly inspected for quality. Here I will insure for my safety and the animals that all of their equipment including collar and lead are in safe condition. I also will insure the animals' safe access to hydrate before, during, and after exercise. I am also very keen on picking up my things and keeping everything out of the reach of the animals so there is nothing they can get a hold of that may cause harm.

Ksenia once again showed great care and patience with our senior girl. Even with a short visit she went above and beyond in taking care of our pup! We are always so grateful!

I’m so happy we found Ksenia! She has been so wonderful with our 2 cats. Her daily updates on how the visits went, along with photos and videos is so nice to get while we’re away. She’s also been flexible with schedule adjustments and check-in times. We’ll definitely be using her in the future!

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Yellowknife

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Yellowknife on Rover is $42.8 per visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Yellowknife stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yellowknife choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
