About: I grew up with a Cavalier King Charles puppy who was my best friend the moment we met until he passed away. Family and friends have trusted me to spend the night or check in a few times throughout the day with their furry friends. I am currently a full time university student with weekends free to spend time with your pets! I am available weekdays after 5:30 and for looking after pets on the weekends I follow instructions left for pet sitting and don’t hesitate to reach out if I have questions or need clarification. No request is too much when special care needs to be taken.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a little kid. Always helping out with the family dogs, feeding, exercising, brushing etc. I’ve always been the family’s “go-to” dog walker and I have always enjoyed and and know how to handle dogs well. Especially while out on walks. I have so much love to give to animals and that will never change. Lots of family and friends always trust me to be the animal person and that is what I am most proud of. I’m currently working a part time job on Fridays and some Mondays. I’ll have time throughout the days for walking and drop ins. Pretty flexible with times. Fridays and Mondays not till after 4pm. Weekends are most preferred for overnights but again I’m pretty flexible :) All do anything for the furry friends. Depending on the clients home and their preferences. If dogs have a nice yard that is protected by gates and enjoy being outside (whether permitted) I will let them out but also keep a close eye and let them in once they are ready (and if client allows dogs indoors). As for indoor cats I usually let them do their own thing as that’s how cats usually are, while still checking in on them. Making sure all pets have water, food when needed, poop picked up, litter boxes scooped and lots of love and play time :)
About: Honestly, the best part of my day is when I'm out for a walk in the evening and get to see people with their dogs. I'm that person who always asks, "Can I say hi to your dog?" There's just something about them that I've loved my entire life. Even though I don't have a dog of my own right now, I'm hoping to change that one day. For now, I'd be thrilled to offer all that pent-up dog-loving energy to yours! Because I'm starting fresh, I'll be completely focused on your dog's specific needs and routines. You can trust that I'll listen to every detail you tell me. Whether I'm taking them for a walk or keeping them company at your place, your dog will have my full, undivided attention. My schedule is wide open, and I'm really flexible. I'm looking to make pet care a main focus of my routine. So, if your dog needs a fun midday walk to break up the day, I'm your guy. If you're heading out of town and need someone to stay over, I can build my schedule completely around what they're used to. The most important thing for me is keeping your dog happy and on their regular schedule. I totally get that letting someone new care for your dog and be in your home requires a lot of trust. My goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and secure. When we're out walking: Your dog's safety is my top priority. I'm always alert, I keep a firm grip on the leash, and we'll stick to routes you're comfortable with. Plus, I’ll send you fun pictures from our adventures around town! When I'm house-sitting: Think of me as a respectful, responsible guest whose main job is to spoil your dog. I'll make sure they get their meals on time, have plenty of playtime, and get all the cuddles they want. I'll also take great care of your home—keeping it tidy and secure. You'll get plenty of updates so you can relax and enjoy your time away, knowing everything back home is just fine.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Swift Current maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Swift Current walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swift Current choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
