Further my home offers a fenced area to allow them to run and play as well. I offer a large crate if needed. Walks/excercise is provided as well as potty breaks depending on your dog but can be provided every 30 minutes if needed. Live in quiet neighbourhood. Able to administer oral medication if required. My house is simple and clustter free so you won't have to worry that your dog will eat anything. Photos are provided daily with updates of your four legged baby if you so wish. I will request a meet and greet prior to taking in your pup to ensure that my dog and yours get along before a long stay. If you need last minute care I will still need a meet and greet for the safety of both your pup and mine. I do have two small children one who is mostly not home during the week. He loves dogs and is gentle with our dog. My work schedule allows me to care for your pup without an issue. Your pup will not be left alone for long periods of time if need be and will receive plenty of love and care. I have a fenced area for your pup to be free in, a side road to walk your pup, or an unfenced area to allow your pup to run freely. Inside, your pup will have full range of my home as I have several dog beds through out the house as well as a crate which is always open but can be used.

About: This is our first time getting on Rover but both my husband and I are pet parents and frequently pet sit for a number of friends and family when they travel. I’m an experienced pet parent with two dogs of my own, aged 5 and 6. They’re very friendly and loving and I am very familiar with the care, routine and attention dogs need every day. I understand that every pet has their own personality and comfort level — I am happy to follow your instructions closely to make sure they’re happy and settled. Your pet will have plenty of space and attention with me. I live in a house with a fully fenced yard, giving dogs some space to play and get some fresh air. It’s a non-smoking household and because I live with my husband and mother-in-law, someone will always be home and your pet won’t be left alone for longer than 20 mins if at all. I’m comfortable providing them with regular walks and potty breaks. My dogs are given pee breaks every 4 hours and two walks in the morning and at night right before we sleep. I’m also comfortable with maintaining consistent feeding schedules, playtime, and providing oral medication (what’s not in the list is obvious but I’m also great at cuddles and companionship). My goal is to make every pet feel like part of the pack when staying with us. I work a full time job but I’m mostly remote (I’m lucky). So I’m home throughout and able to give pets plenty of attention and regular breaks. My own dogs are already part of my daily routine with walks, feeding, playtime, and endless cuddles built in. On the rare occasion that I need to go into the office (like once a month but it’s very rare), my husband is home and helps care for the dogs. He is an equally attentive and loving pet parent so your fur baby will have someone around them to keep them safe, loved and cared for. I know how important it is to feel confident that your dog is in a safe space. I have used rover to find sitters for my dogs too and it’s a top priority. Is the house truly dog friendly - no slippery floors, food lying around, chocolate wrappers, sharp edges… I scan for the little things. I live in a house with a fully fenced yard so dogs can enjoy some outdoor time without having the risk of them wandering off. Our home is non-smoking and you can be sure that someone will always be in the house with the dogs, at all times. Before a stay, I’m happy to learn about your dogs routine, personality, feeds, comfort level, and any special instructions so I can keep their experience as familiar and stress-free as possible. I’m also very mindful of introductions between dogs so I can make sure every pet feels comfortable and has the space they need. Most importantly, I want you to have complete peace of mind when you’re away. So if you like, I’ll keep you updated with messages, photos, and videos (I personally like these) and follow your instructions carefully to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and right at home.

I’m also able to be flexible with feeding schedules, medications, walks and any routines your pet is used to at home. I want pets in my care to feel comfortable, safe and at home. When staying with me, they’ll be treated like part of the family and get lots of attention, affection, playtime and regular outdoor breaks. We also have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely get outside for fresh air, potty breaks and playtime throughout the day. I have a friendly cockapoo named Hershey, so I’m happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand to make sure everyone is comfortable. I also prefer to keep the number of pets I care for at one time limited so I can give each pet plenty of individual attention. When caring for a pet in their own home, I’ll do my best to stick closely to their normal routine, including feeding, walks, potty breaks and any special instructions you provide. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so keeping you updated and making sure your pet is happy and well cared for is very important to me.

I'm a Durham Region small business owner & have parlayed my heart for animals into this part-time gig.
