I'm a dog mom to a Miniature Schnauzer named Brodie, an animal rescue advocate, foster parent, and volunteer for NYC based animal rescue, AmsterDog Rescue. Outside of animals, I work in Human Resources for a law firm and often work from home 2-4 days a week and home full time most weekends. I’m an animal lover and have experience working with both large and small dog breeds. I am comfortable caring for dogs with special needs: seniors, medical cases, behavior challenges, and puppies as young as 8 weeks old. As a current dog parent and rescue foster, I’ve cared for 20+ dogs who I personally house trained, potty trained, and taught basic commands to while under my care. I have experience working with dogs that have special medical needs (allergies, sore joints, injuries), require medication, and/or recovering from surgery. Additionally, I’m experienced caring for rescue dogs with behavior challenges including high prey drives, dog reactive, people reactive, and have separation anxiety. I am confident working with pets who have behavior and/or medical needs but currently cannot provide boarding or daycare services to pets who are not dog friendly since I have a Miniature Schnauzer dog named Brodie in my home. Brodie is friendly with dogs of all sizes as well as cats. He is a submissive dog who is respectful of other pets and happily welcomes them into our home. Brodie is playful and would love to be your pet’s new best friend!

I'm a trustworthy, reliable, and pet savvy individual who will always put your pet's needs first. When working with me, you can always expect a professional experience with ongoing communications during the service including: frequent pet updates with photos, arrival/departure notifications, and most importantly that your pet will be treated like they're my own when with me. I will always follow instructions provided and give your pet fresh food and water, and administer medications (if applicable) during every visit. I have essential dog supplies readily available including: dog bowls, dog beds, basic walking gear, dog toys, and various interactive toys/food puzzles for your dog to use! I live alone in a studio loft apartment on the 5th floor in a safe, quiet, and extremely pet friendly, elevator building in the Gramercy Park area. My building does not have any pet or breed restrictions so pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome in my home!

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, triggers, quirks, or anything you believe is important for me to be aware of when taking care of your dog. If your dog needs medication, allergies, special diets or other medical conditions please tell me so that I can ensure they get the care they need. Additionally, if your dog is people or dog reactive/aggressive, fearful of loud noises, fireworks, storms and/or sensitive to other triggers please let me know so that I can minimize any stress they encounter while under my care. I personally believe the more information you provide me the better so that I can ensure your pet has the best possible experience while with me!
A typical day
I'm an active person who lives in a pet friendly neighborhood close to Stuyvesant Square and Madison Square Park, several dog runs/parks and more fun places that your dog will love exploring if they are dog and people friendly! If your pet isn’t a fan of of busy environments, I know several great areas to walk your dog that are calmer along the East River such as Stuyvesant Cove Park. When in my apartment, your dog will have full access to my entire home including the couch and bed. I also have clean dog beds readily available for them to use. There will also be a lots of indoor playtime and relaxation time on the couch. I also have lots of fun dog toys, safe dog chews, dog treats, interactive food puzzles, and more for your pup to enjoy! I have some experience training dogs so I might teach your pup a new trick or two to impress their parents with! I’ve learned over the years that training is an excellent way to keep your dog entertained and tire them out indoors without using a lot physical activity.

Availability
I work from home several days a week with a very flexible work schedule and available most weekends with lots of free time. While your pet is under my care, they will be my number one priority ensuring they stick to the same routine they're used to at home. I’m available throughout the day and ready to give your pet endless attention including: walks, treats, endless belly rubs, and play time with their favorite toys. We may also work on a trick or two to impress their parents with! While in my care, your pet will never be left home alone for long periods of time. I always coordinate my schedule around the pets I’m caring for and if I have to step away to run a quick errand, I usually opt to take your dog with me instead of leaving them at home! If your pet suffers from separation anxiety, I will plan accordingly to ensure your pet doesn’t leave my side.
