Hi! My name is Alyssa and I try to incorporate animals into my life as much as possible. I have many of my own (a dog, two cats, a snake, and a 30 gallon freshwater fish tank), I've worked as a vet tech, and I volunteered with the Tallahassee animal shelter for 4 years while I was attending FSU. The ability to leave your pet(s) in your own home where they are most comfortable and trusting that they are still receiving the best care possible is important to you, and I and can't wait to help! I've spent four years volunteering with TASC, both with the vets in the back, and up front/special events including discounted rabies vaccines/microchipping clinics. I was also employed as a vet tech for awhile and really enjoyed it. Even though I've moved on career-wise and now work for Florida Fish & Wildlife, taking care of pets still holds a very special place in my heart. Why I love dog sitting: I've loved animals - pretty much all animals - as long as I can remember. We always had pets, dogs included, in my house growing up so they've been a consistent part of my life and I can't really imagine not having them. Being able to spend time and bond with other dogs by means of pet-sitting seems like the perfect part-time job for me. I can't wait to make new, hopefully long-term friends with you AND your dog(s). :) My experience administering medication: Yes - I have no issues with giving pills, drops, creams, etc. Just let me know what you pet needs from me to help make the experience go as smoothly as possible. One of my cats also has a few health "issues" and I give her b12 by injection once a month, so I'm also capable of handling injections if needed.
