I have experience with my own pets as well as previous pet sitting. I volunteer with the Oregon Humane Society, where I specialize in walking and caring for dogs. They provide me with continual education, including a Dog Safety and Handling class, as well as classes about dog grooming, basic obedience training, T-Touch, and more. I have American Red Cross certification in both Dog and Cat First Aid (which includes CPR).

Why I love dog sitting My first dogs were a King Charles Spaniel named Lady and a mixed breed golden retriever named Misty when I was 4. I have been in love with dogs ever since. I currently have a female Boston Terrier, Banshee, who I adopted from the Multnomah County Animal Shelter. She is very lovable.

Information Selena J. would like to know about your pet

I am an equal opportunity dog lover. I love all breeds. If there is anything special about his or her personality or medical needs that needs special treatment, it would be great to know ahead of time so I can properly care for them.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog As I will be travelling to your home, I plan on devoting all of my attention to your dog and his/her needs as long as I am there. Besides staying overnight and being available each evening and morning, I will spend at least three hours each day with your pet depending on their needs (cuddle time, play time, exercise, etc.) When your pet is resting or tired of attention, I will likely read or work on homework, but my first priority is taking good care of your dog. Extra house-sitting services I would be happy to house sit for you while you are away.

Pet care experience

I am a 21 year old student and animal lover. I have had various pets all my life including cats, rabbits, hamsters, and dogs. I also enjoy reptiles, amphibians, other rodents, etc. I love dogs of all sizes, and I am available for short term sitting such as one afternoon, or long term such as two weeks overnight. I currently take care of my Boston Terrier here in my home, and so I would prefer to travel to your home and take care of your animal(s) where they are most comfortable. I love all breeds, always do breed research in order to take care of an animal in the ideal way for them, and would be happy to play with, walk, feed, bathe, and clean up after your pet, as well as anything else you specify for his or her needs. I am also able to take care of other needs around the house while you are away. I am neither a cat person nor a dog person; I am an animal person. I love them all.

Selena stayed with my 2 big dogs over the 4th of July. One of the dogs is a 105 pound baby when it comes to fireworks and she did a great job. I came home to two happy dogs. Also, Selena did a nice job of texting me to let me know how things were going. I would highly recommend her

Selena was very flexible in meeting us for the first time. I felt very comfortable leaving our beloved dachshunds with her in our home for 10 days which is the longest we have ever left them with a non-family member. While they are potty trained they decide to be defiant when we leave and all of their messes were cleaned up when we got home. The house was left as it was before we left for our vacation. We had a few challenges with the dogs including a dog who decided to hide under the bed. She was patient and messaged us with any issues and by the end of the stay our Henry finally made friends with her (which is not a small task). We also had her bring in the trash and mail. Overall we are very pleased!
